Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 large egg

1 cup milk (or plant-based alternative)

2 tablespoons melted butter (plus extra for cooking)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup Nutella

Powdered sugar for dusting

Optional toppings: sliced bananas, strawberries, whipped cream

Instructions

Preheat the skillet: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter.

Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, beat the egg and then whisk in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Combine mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; be careful not to overmix. The batter should be slightly lumpy.

Prepare for stuffing: Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the preheated skillet; cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes.

Add Nutella: Carefully scoop about 1 tablespoon of Nutella onto the center of the pancake. Then pour another 1/4 cup of batter over the Nutella to cover it.

Flip the pancake: Cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the underside is golden brown. Gently flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until cooked through. Remove from the skillet and keep warm.

Repeat: Continue with the remaining batter and Nutella, adding more butter to the skillet as needed.

Serve: Stack the pancakes high on a plate, dust with powdered sugar, and add any optional toppings you like, such as sliced bananas, strawberries, or whipped cream.
