Ingredients

1 pound ground pork

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon fennel seeds

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 tablespoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)

1 teaspoon fresh basil, chopped (or ½ teaspoon dried)

1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork with salt, black pepper, fennel seeds, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, red pepper flakes, parsley, and basil.

Use your hands to mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined, ensuring that the spices are evenly distributed throughout the meat.

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into patties, about ½ inch thick. You should yield about 8 patties.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the pan, making sure not to overcrowd them.

Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through (the internal temperature should reach 160°F or 70°C).

Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.

Serve warm, and enjoy on their own, in a sandwich, or as an addition to pasta or salads.

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 25 minutes | Servings: 4 (2 patties each)
