Ingredients

1 pound ground pork

1 tablespoon fennel seeds

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice level)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, fennel seeds, oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, salt, black pepper, and parsley.

Use your hands or a fork to mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the patties tough.

Divide the mixture into equal portions, typically yielding 4 to 6 patties, depending on your preferred size.

Shape each portion into a round, flat patty, about 1/2 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the patties to the skillet, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. You may need to cook them in batches.

Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through (the internal temperature should reach 160°F).

Once cooked, transfer the patties to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.

Serve warm, pairing with a side of sautéed peppers and onions, or on a bun with your favorite toppings.
