Ingredients

2 large onions, finely chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup sour cream

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Optional: fresh herbs (such as parsley or chives) for garnish

Chips, crackers, or veggies for serving

Instructions

Prep the Onions: In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they are soft and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.

Mix the Base: While the onions are cooking, in a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and creamy.

Incorporate the Onions: Once the onions are caramelized, remove them from heat and let them cool slightly. Fold the onions into the cheese mixture until evenly distributed.

Prepare for Baking: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the onion and cheese mixture into a baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Bake the Dip: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the dip is bubbling and golden on top.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Optional: garnish with fresh herbs. Serve warm with chips, crackers, or fresh vegetable sticks.
