Ingredients

2 lbs chicken thighs, boneless and skinless

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Salt and pepper to taste

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

1 tablespoon vegetable oil for cooking

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper on both sides.

Make the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until well combined.

Marinate the Chicken: Place the seasoned chicken in a large resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (up to 4 hours for more flavor).

Cook the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and add it to the skillet. Save the marinade for later use.

Sear the Chicken: Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for an additional 6-7 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F/75°C).

Add the Sauce: Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet with the chicken. Bring to a simmer and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the chicken.

Serve: Transfer the chicken to a serving plate. Drizzle the sauce from the skillet over the chicken. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Enjoy: Serve the Honey Garlic Chicken warm over a bed of rice or with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
