1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

    Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.

      Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

        Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
