Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup whole milk, warmed (110°F)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (plus extra for brushing)

2 large eggs, at room temperature

1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Some additional flour for dusting

Instructions

In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes or until frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, melted butter, eggs, and honey (if using).

Mix until a dough begins to form. Turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

Once risen, punch the dough down and turn it out onto the floured surface. Divide it into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.

Arrange the dough balls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, leaving a little space between each one. Cover and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Once the rolls have risen, brush the tops with melted butter.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Immediately brush with more melted butter after removing from the oven for extra glaze and flavor.

Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy these rolls warm!
