Ingredients

1 package (15.35 oz) Oreo cookies

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup white chocolate chips

1 teaspoon peppermint extract

1/2 cup crushed candy canes (plus extra for garnish)

1 tablespoon vegetable oil (optional, for thinning chocolate)

Instructions

Crush the Cookies: Using a food processor, crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. If you don’t have a food processor, you can place them in a plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin.

Mix with Cream Cheese: In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreo cookies with the softened cream cheese and peppermint extract. Mix until well incorporated and a dough-like consistency forms.

Form the Truffles: Using your hands, roll the mixture into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. You should have around 24 truffles.

Chill: Cover the truffles with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour, until they are firm.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until completely melted and smooth. If the chocolate is too thick, add a tablespoon of vegetable oil to thin it out.

Coat the Truffles: Dip each chilled truffle into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated. Use a fork to lift it out and gently tap it on the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate.

Add Toppings: Immediately sprinkle crushed candy canes on top of the chocolate-coated truffles before the chocolate sets.

Chill Again: Return the truffles to the baking sheet and refrigerate for another 20-30 minutes, or until the chocolate coating is firm.

Serve and Enjoy: Once set, serve the truffles on a festive platter or in gift boxes. Enjoy your delicious and festive treat!
