Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

4 cups frozen hash browns (thawed)

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup sour cream

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent. Drain any excess fat.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with the thawed hash browns, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, 1.5 cups of cheddar cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.

Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Sprinkle the remaining 0.5 cups of shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and slightly golden.

Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
