Ingredients

1 pound (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked pasta or rice, for serving

Instructions

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Make the Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and stir well. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Add Cheese and Lemon: Stir in the Parmesan cheese and lemon juice, mixing until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.

Combine: Return the shrimp to the skillet, tossing them in the creamy sauce until well coated. Heat for an additional minute to warm the shrimp through.

Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately over pasta or rice.
