Ingredients

1 pound fresh salmon fillet, skinless, cut into bite-sized cubes

1/4 cup honey

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup cornstarch

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 egg, beaten

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and salt to create the marinade. Place the salmon cubes in the marinade, tossing gently to coat. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.

While the salmon is marinating, prepare the breading station. In one bowl, add cornstarch; in a second bowl, add the flour; and in a third bowl, pour in the beaten egg.

After marinating, take each salmon cube and first coat it in cornstarch, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the beaten egg, followed by the flour, ensuring it's well coated. Set aside on a plate.

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat about 1/2 inch of oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot (around 350°F or 175°C), carefully place the breaded salmon bites in the pan, ensuring not to overcrowd them.

Fry the salmon bites for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden and crispy. Remove them from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Serve the crispy honey garlic salmon bites warm, garnished with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Drizzle with any remaining marinade reduced in a small saucepan if desired.
