Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup milk

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups peeled and diced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Additional cinnamon for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.

Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat until blended.

Combine Dry and Wet: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and fold gently with a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter.

Add Apples: Fold in the diced apples until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Transfer to Loaf Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool: Once baked, remove the loaf from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare Glaze: While the bread is cooling, whisk together the powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk in a small bowl until smooth. Add more milk if a thinner glaze is desired.

Glaze the Bread: Once the bread has cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top. Sprinkle a little extra cinnamon on top for added flavor, if desired.

Serve: Slice and serve your Country Apple Fritter Bread either warm or at room temperature. Enjoy a slice with your morning coffee or as a delightful snack any time of day!
