Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

½ cup water (plus more as needed)

1 tablespoon salt

1 pound ground pork

1 cup chicken broth (homemade or low sodium)

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon ginger, minced

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 green onions, finely chopped

1 teaspoon sugar

Black pepper to taste

Cornstarch for dusting

Instructions

Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing until the dough begins to form. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Prepare the Filling: In a separate bowl, mix the ground pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, green onions, sugar, and black pepper. Stir in the chicken broth gradually until the mixture is well-blended and has a slightly soupy consistency. Chill in the fridge for about 15 minutes.

Roll the Dough: After resting, divide the dough into small pieces (about the size of a golf ball). Roll each piece into a circle about 3 inches in diameter, making the edges thinner than the center.

Fill the Dumplings: Place about 1 tablespoon of the pork filling in the center of each dough circle. Carefully pinch the edges together, creating pleats in the dough, and twist the top to seal completely. Ensure there are no air pockets.

Prepare for Steaming: Line a steaming basket with parchment paper or cabbage leaves to prevent sticking. Arrange the dumplings in the basket, making sure they don’t touch.

Steam the Dumplings: Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a rolling boil. Place the steamer basket over the pot and cover with a lid. Steam the dumplings for about 10-12 minutes until they are cooked through and slightly translucent.

Serve and Enjoy: Carefully remove the dumplings from the steamer. Serve hot with soy sauce, vinegar, or chili oil for dipping. Enjoy the burst of flavor with every bite!
