Ingredients

1/2 cup pineapple juice

1/4 cup white vinegar

1/4 cup ketchup

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon ginger powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine the pineapple juice, white vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and ginger powder. Stir well to incorporate all the ingredients.

Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring frequently until it begins to simmer.

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry.

Once the sauce is simmering, slowly pour in the cornstarch slurry while continuously stirring. This will help thicken the sauce.

Continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.

Taste the sauce and season with salt and pepper as needed.

Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving. You can use the sauce immediately or store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
