Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups fresh broccoli florets

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, grated

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sugar

Cooked white rice, for serving

Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Scallions, sliced, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, rice vinegar, and sugar. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Blanch the Broccoli: While the beef is marinating, bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and blanch for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Stir-Fry: In a large wok or skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the wok in a single layer. Let it sear for about 2 minutes without stirring, allowing a crust to form. Then stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through.

Combine Ingredients: Add the blanched broccoli to the beef in the wok. Drizzle with sesame oil and stir thoroughly to combine, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.

Serve: Remove from heat and transfer your beef and broccoli stir-fry to a serving dish. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced scallions, if desired. Serve hot over freshly cooked white rice.
