Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup caramel bits (or chopped soft caramels)

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.

Gently fold in the caramel bits and chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden and the centers look slightly underbaked.

Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each cookie.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
