Ingredients

1 package of crescent roll dough (8 oz)

8 breakfast sausages (cocktail size)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 large egg (for egg wash)

1 tablespoon milk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Fresh chives (for garnish, optional)

Maple syrup (for dipping, optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy clean-up.

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk for the egg wash and set aside.

Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface and separate it into triangles along the perforations.

Take a breakfast sausage and place it at the wider end of the triangle. Sprinkle a tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese over the sausage.

Roll the sausage and cheese tightly inside the crescent dough, starting at the wide end and rolling towards the pointed end. Place the wrapped sausage seam-side down on the baking sheet.

Repeat with the remaining sausages, cheese, and dough until everything is prepared.

Brush the tops of the wrapped sausages with the egg wash, then sprinkle lightly with garlic powder and onion powder for extra flavor.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the sausages are cooked through.

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with finely chopped fresh chives, if desired.

Serve warm with maple syrup on the side for dipping.
