Ingredients

2 beef blade steaks (about 1-inch thick)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 medium onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

8 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)

½ cup beef broth

½ cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Steaks: Season both sides of the beef blade steaks generously with salt and black pepper. Let them sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes.

Sear the Steaks: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside to rest.

Sauté the Onions and Garlic: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the chopped onion. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened, then add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Cook the Mushrooms: Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet with the onions and garlic. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are browned and tender.

Create the Sauce: Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 5 minutes to reduce slightly. Then add the heavy cream and stir to combine. Let the sauce simmer for another 3-4 minutes until creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve: Plate the rested beef blade steaks and spoon the rich mushroom sauce generously over the top. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

Enjoy: Serve immediately with your choice of side dishes, such as mashed potatoes or sautéed green beans.
