1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced

2 large onions, thinly sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, grated

1 bell pepper (red or green), sliced

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional for thickening)

Salt and pepper to taste

Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Prep the Beef: In a bowl, marinate the beef slices with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

    Heat the Oil: In a large wok or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

      Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes without stirring until browned. Flip the pieces and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fully cooked. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

        Sauté the Aromatics: In the same pan, add a little more oil if necessary. Sauté the minced garlic and grated ginger for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

          Add Onions and Peppers: Toss in the sliced onions and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

            Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked beef to the pan. Pour in the remaining soy sauce and oyster sauce, and drizzle with sesame oil. Stir everything together, allowing the flavors to meld.

              Thicken Sauce (Optional): If you prefer a thicker sauce, add the cornstarch-water mixture and stir frequently for another minute until the sauce thickens.

                Serve: Once everything is well combined and heated through, remove from heat. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
