1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)

6 slices of crispy bacon, chopped

1 cup mushrooms, sliced (such as cremini or button)

1 onion, finely diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

4 large eggs

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh chives or parsley, for garnish

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

    Prepare the Puff Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to fit a tart pan (approximately 9 inches). Carefully transfer the pastry to the pan, pressing it into the edges and trimming any excess. Poke holes in the base with a fork to prevent it from puffing up during baking.

      Cook the Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside on a paper towel to drain excess grease.

        Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, using the residual bacon grease, add the diced onion and cook until softened and translucent (about 5 minutes). Add the sliced mushrooms and garlic; cook until the mushrooms are golden and any liquid has evaporated (about 5-7 minutes). Season with salt and pepper.

          Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream until combined. Season with salt and pepper.

            Assemble the Tart: Spread the sautéed onion and mushroom mixture evenly over the puff pastry. Sprinkle the crispy bacon over the vegetables, then pour the egg mixture over the top. Finally, sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the tart.

              Bake: Place the tart in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the egg is set and the pastry is golden brown.

                Cool and Garnish: Remove the tart from the oven and allow it to cool slightly. Garnish with finely chopped chives or parsley before slicing.
