Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

1/4 cup sour cream

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 medium apples, peeled and diced

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for the cream cheese layer)

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

2 tbsp melted butter (for the topping)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Prepare the Apple Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine diced apples with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and set aside to let the apples marinate in the flavors.

Make the Bread Batter: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in sour cream and vanilla extract until well blended.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix. Fold in the spiced apples gently.

Prepare the Cream Cheese Layer: In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.

Layer the Batter: Pour half of the bread batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly. Carefully dollop the cream cheese mixture over the batter, spreading gently but leaving some gaps. Pour the remaining batter on top, smoothing it out.

Prepare the Crisp Topping: In a small bowl, mix rolled oats, chopped nuts, melted butter, and a pinch of cinnamon until combined. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the batter.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top begins to brown too quickly, you can cover it with aluminum foil halfway through baking.

Cool: Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve: Slice and enjoy your delicious Apple Crisp Cheesecake Bread! It can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature—perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a cozy afternoon snack.
