Ingredients

1 medium apple, cored and diced (about 1 cup)

1 cup grated carrots (about 2 medium carrots)

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup natural peanut butter (make sure it’s xylitol-free)

1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

1/4 cup honey (optional, adjust based on dietary needs)

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional and not too much for small dogs)

1/2 cup whole wheat flour (or oat flour for grain-free)

Instructions

Prepare Ingredients: Start by washing the apple and carrots thoroughly. Core the apple and cut it into small, manageable pieces before dicing it. Grate the carrots using a box grater or food processor.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced apple, grated carrots, and peanut butter. Mix until they are well incorporated.

Add Dry Ingredients: Stir in the rolled oats, applesauce, and honey (if using). Mix until everything is evenly combined.

Incorporate Flour: Gradually add whole wheat flour (or oat flour) while mixing until a dough forms. If the mixture seems too wet, you can add a little more flour, a tablespoon at a time.

Form Balls: Once mixed, use your hands to take small portions of the dough and roll them into bite-sized balls, approximately 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Chill: For stability, refrigerate the balls for about 30 minutes to allow them to firm up.

Serve: Treat your furry friend by serving them 1-2 balls, depending on their size and dietary needs. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
