When it comes to selecting the right cut of chicken for our Asian-glazed recipe, boneless, skinless chicken thighs reign supreme. Unlike chicken breasts, which can sometimes be dry and lack flavor, chicken thighs are celebrated for their tenderness and juiciness. This cut comes from the leg of the chicken and contains a higher fat content, which not only helps to keep the meat moist during cooking but also enhances the overall flavor profile of the dish. The rich, savory taste of chicken thighs pairs beautifully with the sweet and tangy glaze, ensuring that each bite is bursting with flavor.

Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon Sriracha (optional, for spice)

1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thicker glaze)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken:

    - In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and Sriracha (if using).

      - Place the chicken thighs in a resealable bag or glass dish and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag or cover the dish and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight for better flavor.

        Preheat the Air Fryer:

          - Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.

            Prepare the Chicken:

              - After marinating, remove the chicken from the marinade. If you prefer a thicker glaze, mix cornstarch with a tablespoon of water to make a slurry and stir it into the remaining marinade.

                - You can brush some of the marinade on the chicken thighs for extra flavor before cooking. Reserve any remaining marinade for basting while cooking.

                  Cook in the Air Fryer:

                    - Place the chicken thighs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring there's some space between each piece.

                      - Cook for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C) and crispy on the outside.

                        Glaze the Chicken:

                          - During the last 2-3 minutes of cooking, you can brush the chicken with the reserved marinade for extra flavor and a beautiful glaze.

                            Serve:

                              - Once cooked, let the chicken rest for a couple of minutes. Slice it if desired, and then sprinkle with sesame seeds and garnish with sliced green onions.

                                Enjoy:

                                  - Serve your Air Fryer Asian-Glazed Boneless Chicken Thighs with steamed rice and your choice of stir-fried vegetables or a fresh salad.
